Join us in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, beginning on Thursday, September 29th, for the 2022 Fire Mark Circle of the Americas Annual Convention.
We’ll be gathering at the Wyndham Gettysburg, 95 Presidential Circle, Gettysburg, PA 17325, and we think you’ll be very pleased with the accommodations there. Our rate for a single or double occupancy is $149.00 plus tax. Since the $149.00 rate is also available for three days before and three days after the convention subject to availability, you may want to spend some extra time to see the sights in and around Gettysburg, plus it is only 140 miles to Philadelphia, 90 miles to Washington, DC, 60 miles to Harpers Ferry, WV and 50 miles to Sharpsburg, MD and the Antietam Battlefield.
Our convention itinerary will follow the usual schedule, with the Board Meeting on Thursday afternoon at 2 PM, dinner on your own that evening, followed by the Hospitality Suite with Silent Auction items being displayed in the Amblebrook Room.
Friday morning we will start our planned tours. Be ready to board the bus at 8:30 AM (as bus departure is only 15 minutes later). First, we will be going to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum and Visitor Center to see various exhibits beginning at 9:00 AM. Our itinerary also includes a 10:00 AM showing of the film A New Birth of Freedom to be followed by a viewing of the Gettysburg Cyclorama. At 11:00 AM we will reboard the bus for a 2-hour tour of the battlefield with a Licensed Battlefield Guide, after which our bus will stop by the Visitor Center to drop off the guide and proceed to Dunlap’s Restaurant for our lunch. At 2:15 PM, the bus will take us back to the Visitor Center to catch a shuttle to the Eisenhower National Historic Site to visit the weekend retreat and retirement home of President Dwight D. and Mamie Eisenhower. At 4:00 PM, the shuttle will return us to the Visitor Center, where a bus will take us back to the Wyndham, and dinner will again be on your own Friday evening. In addition to the hotel dining room, there are many great restaurant choices within a short drive of our hotel or in the downtown area. A map and tour guide will be provided in your registration package in the lobby at time of check in.
Our Business Meeting will be Saturday morning, followed by lunch in the hotel dining room, with the Live Auction taking center stage in the afternoon. That evening, we’ll enjoy our closing banquet: a buffet-style sit-down dinner in the hotel Amblebrook room (entrées will be beef and chicken), followed by one last opportunity to visit in the Hospitality Suite.
The registration fee for the 2022 convention is $200.00 per person ($100.00 for 1st-time attendees), which includes: admission to the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum (including viewing of the film and Cyclorama), guided bus tour of the battlefield, admission to the Eisenhower National Historic Site, all admission fees and transportation on Friday, and Saturday’s lunch and banquet dinner.
